Deployment Scenarios
CD2 has been built to cater for many differing operating environments:
- Record and CD stores
- Audio stores selling digital music devices
- Service stores such as copy and binding stores
- Photographic Stores
Record and CD stores
It is clear that the media buying public still enjoy the physical transaction of media purchases and CD2 can be deployed as a value add to this market sector by allowing the consumer to immediately load, at point of sale, their digital music device with new material. Thus, CD2 maintains the margin sale of physical media and adds a second income level of transaction for the server load, typically an additional 15-20% of overall CD purchase price.
CD2 may be integrated at point of sale to ensure returns and purchase process is managed on a per CD level and in addition can be used to gather statistics on consumer purchases by carefully informing them of similar releases while the process is taking place.
Audio stores
One of the main reluctances of going digital for any consumer is content availability and in particular the arduous task of loading CD’s to their new device. Deploying CD2 ensures that at point of sale this is a reason to buy rather than not to buy as CD’s can be loaded directly at transaction time.
The net effect therefore is to increase the sale close ratio and increase margin with the service aspect.
Service Stores
Stores, such as those who often have a return customer base for services such as photocopying, binding, mailing etc have the ability to increase their offering and expand within the digital music sector by offering a traditional while to wait service for CD loading. Our custom user interface designs allow the user to utilise CD2 in a similar fashion to a copy machine.
CD2 therefore can create additional margin on these new services and open a stream of income not previously addressed.
Photographic Stores
Already focussing heavily on the new digital era, photo stores can take advantage of the current business models of in store transactions by deploying CD2 to complete the circle on digital media conversion ensuring customer loyalty and by providing new revenue streams. |
